Are you living your best life or are your choices slowly killing you?
The connection between body, mind and spirit is real. We cannot negatively affect or neglect one, without directly affecting the others. How we treat our bodies directly affects our minds. Eating poorly results in mental health issues including depression and anxiety. Ignoring our spirit, leads to loss of energy and decreased passion for life.
Are your choices in work or career making you sick? When we stay too long in a career or job that does not fulfill us or slowly eats away at our inner peace, we are prone to physical sickness. What depletes our soul, feeds mental and physical illness. People often stay in toxic work environments because of the benefits, but the tradeoff is that the benefits are used on medical and pharmaceuticals because the job depletes and breaks down the body, mind and soul.
Are you bottling up negative emotions such as anger or sadness? These emotions need to be released to heal. Not talking about things that are bothering you will negatively affect you too. Talking and expressing your thoughts and feelings is healthy. Staying in a state of anger or sadness will slowly destroy you.
Are you making choices on a daily basis that negatively affect your health and wellness such as overeating, overspending or addiction? Every choice that you make that takes you away from your wellbeing will accumulate and have a toxic response on one of your systems, whether mentally, physically or spiritually. Most likely it will take a toll on all three.
Become aware of your daily behaviors. Notice negative patterns and take steps to make better choices. What is out of balance is a sign that you are not listening and honoring yourself. Be real with yourself. You know if you are making choices that harm your life. Don’t ignore these decisions anymore or take them lightly.
If your life is killing you, it’s not too late. Take one step, make one positive choice today to save yourself. No one can do it for you.
Positive changes can include eating better, leaving a toxic work environment, expressing your emotions, acknowledging grief, meditation or spiritual practice, connections with others, walking away from addictions and honoring your body, mind and spirit.
In toxic times and in toxic environments, take the necessary steps to save yourself. Remember what affects one, affects all. Body, mind and spirit cannot be separated. Treat them all with respect and kindness and live your best life yet!
